Athletics
Mr. Nishantha Dayasiri
He works as an athletics coach at Methodist. His qualifications are sufficient to fully coach our girls. He possesses a Special Athletic Training Diploma from India (Pattiyal) in 2007, a Sports Administration Diploma from the International Olympic Committee in 2008, and a Special Training Diploma for Jump Events from Bangalore in 2016.
Mr. Harjan Rathnayake
He is the other coach at Methodist College who teaches athletics. He, too, has the academic qualifications to guide our pupils to their highest athletic potential. He studied Theory of Practice of Condition Training at the University of Peradeniya, Nutrition and Recovery Management 2020 at Capital ADC JALARTA, IAAF CECS Level 1 (Youth Coach 2016) and Exercise and Sports Science.

With his many years of experience of the sport, our table tennis instructor mentors the girls at Methodist College.

Mr. Tuan Amath
He is a professional basketball coach with a long history of success in basketball competitions and experience training the next generation of basketball players. He was the Saba National Women’s Coach in 2016, the 2007 Vietnam Pep Cup Head Coach and bronze medalist, a former Women’s and Men’s national team coach, St. Paul’s Basketball Coach, C.I.S Basketball Coach, and Mercantile Sector Coach. He is currently our beloved school’s basketball coach.

Swimming
Name
The swimming coach at Methodist is known to be one of the best coaches in Sri Lanka. He has a variety of qualifications ranging from being the Head Coach of Bishop’s College and Girls’ High School, Mt Lavinia, Head coach and owner of Mermaid Swimming Academy, 2022 – Represented Sri Lanka as the coach for the scholarship program (Swimming Clinic for Coaches) organized by the Olympic Committee of Asia together with World Olympic Council. This scholarship was given interviewing the 10 best Swimming coaches in Sri Lanka at that time by the Olympic Committee and Sri Lanka Aquatic Union. His Professional Qualifications include being Qualified at Levels 1,2 and 3 (American Swimming Coaches’ Association, International Age group), FINA level 1 qualified, Diploma in sports science (National Institute of Sports Science).
