Holistic development is prioritised at Methodist College, and the school strives to ensure that every student receives the academic, social and emotional nurture needed to thrive right from their very first day at school till they bid MC farewell, equipped to take on the world beyond. Constant reinforcement and reevaluation of the educational policies and structures that direct teaching and learning in the school are a cornerstone of this endeavour.
The school is divided into 3 main sections – the Primary School, which is housed at Framjee House, Station Road, Colombo 03, and the Middle School and Upper School, situated at 250, Galle Road, Colombo 03. Methodist College offers education in Sinhala, Tamil and English mediums in the National Curriculum, as well as the International Curriculum (Edexcel) in the English medium from Grade 6 onwards. The organisational structure is as follows:

In addition to the mainstream curriculum, Methodist College also offers a wellbeing curriculum to foster mental, emotional, social and physical health, as well as a financial literacy curriculum that enables our A/L students to dive into practical life skills like budgeting, saving, using credit cards wisely, and planning for the future through learning to manage money and making smart choices.
Students in need of personalised academic support receive assistance from the Educational Support Units in the Primary and Upper Schools.
